About me

My name is Dr. Lauren Rhodes, I am an astrophysicist at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. I am interested in studying the jets, ultra-relativistic collimated outflows, launched by compact objects and understanding how they interact with their environments.

I've held a Trottier Space Institute Post-doctoral research fellowship since September 2024. Previously, I was post-doctoral researcher at the University of Oxford where I also received my PhD in 2022 under the supervision of Prof. Rob Fender.

When I'm not working, I love rock climbing, hiking and being outside in general. I am also a massive coffee nerd so am often found working from coffee shops rather than my office.
